Lake Toba Tour and Orang-utan
5 days / 4 nites

Day 1. Medan – Bohorok Orangutan (D)
Arrive Medan and drive to Bukit Lawang, the Orangutan rehabilitatiopn centre located in Gunung Leuser National Park. This is one of the largest national park in the world containing over 900.000 ha of firgin rainforest. Upon arrival direckt transfer to your hotel.
Overnight and dinner at Bukit Lawang Cottage (Simple but clean accomodation)

Day 2. Bukit Lawang – Berastagi (B,D)
Breakfest and followed by a short hike up in Gunung Leuser National Park to visit the feeding site where the Orangutans are fed and trained to live in the wild. It is a mavelous sight to see them coming around and swinging freely in the jungle. After the visit you can take optional jungle treck deeper in the park for a few hours with local ranger to explore more tropical flora and fauna (personal account). Those not wishing to take this option can relax befor driving to Berastagi. On the way to hotel in Berastagi, stop and wander around local fruit market.

Day 3. Berastagi – Lake toba / Samosir Island (B,D)
Scenic drive to lake Toba, one of the deepest and largest crater lake in the world with stop at Dokan, a Karo Batak village with a number of traditional houses still being used where eight families live in together in each houses. Next stop at Sipisopiso waterfall and the long house of King Simalungun. Arrive in Parapat, a resort town on the shore of lake Toba acros onboard to Samosir Island where You will stay for 2 nights.
Accomodation and Dinner at Hotel Toledo Inn.

Day 4. Samosir – Tour (B,D)
Discover Samosir Visiting Ambarita where the remnant megalithic culture of Batak Toba lies in front of wooden traditional hauses. Continue to Simanindo to see the folkdance performed by the villagers. Before returning to hotel visiting Tomok village where You can see a very old and nicely decorated sarcophagus.
Overnight and Dinner at Toledo Hotel.

Day 5. Samosir Isalnd – Medan Airport (B)
Acoss back the Lake to Parapat and return to Medan. The trip will take abaout 5 hours pasing by town of Pematang Siantar with its vast view of oilpalm and rubber plantation. Arrive in Medan direckt transfer to airport for You onward flight.
